DIRECTIONS:

  1. Tell your child that they are going to build a Frosty Snowman with sale paper photos!
  2. The adult should draw a snowman on the paper using three circles, one on top of the other, to form the snowman.
  3. Ask your child what Frosty should have on his face. Does he need eyes? A nose? A mouth?
  4. Tell your child to look through the sale papers and use child-safe scissors to cut out pictures of items that can be used to make Frosty's face. Make sure to tell them that Frosty usually has a carrot for a nose!
  5. Allow your child to tell you what they cut out and what they would like to use for each part discussed in Step 3.
  6. Tell the child to use the glue stick to place all the cut out pieces on the top circle - Frosty's face.
  7. Repeat steps 3 through 6 for Frosty's stomach (the middle circle). Ask your child what Frosty will need for the middle part of his body? Does he need arms? buttons? a scarf?
  8. Next, repeat steps 3 through 6 for the bottom circle. Ask your child what Frosty needs in order to walk? Allow the child to find objects to represent Frosty's feet.
  9. Once completed, sing the song "Frosty the Snowman" with your child, but use the objects that your child glued onto their Frosty in the song. Make sure to go through each circle (part of the snowman) singing what each part is made out of:

"Frosty the snowman was a jolly happy soul,
With  ______ mouth and a ____ nose
And two eyes made out of ____.

Frosty the snowman is a fairy tale, they say,
He was made of snow but the children know
How he came to life one day."
