Let's Eat Together - A story about how everyone can be friends.

Do you remember the days when your family would sit around the table eating a meal together? As life has become busier over the years, time spent together as a family has diminished. This fabulous book not only highlights the importance of families eating together, but also emphasizes the importance of inviting everyone (regardless of race, ideals or skill level) to the table. Our differences should be celebrated and what better place to come together then over an amazing meal?

Join animals from all over the world as author, Reid Kaplan, translates the message of togetherness and inclusiveness to children of all ages. As your child is introduced to over twenty animals such as Mr. Dog and Monsieur Frog, Mama Pig and Daddy Goat, they will laugh and giggle through rhyming phrases and detailed illustrations.

The story of "Let's Eat Together" not only teaches the importance of eating together, but how we can solve most of our problems through communication. Let's all sit down and eat together. You never know what struggles of tomorrow could be prevented today. Colorful photos of familiar foods throughout this story will likely lead your child to request your family start eating together (and maybe include the family pet nearby)!

Brilliant illustrations, simple words, along with the hard cover, enable every child, regardless of age, to read, appreciate and implement the lessons that "Let's Eat Together" has to offer.

The Reason Behind the Story

The author, Reid Kaplan, wrote this story to put the spotlight back onto eating together again as families even if we are different, and think different. He describes his experience and the reason for his story below:

"With the emergence of technology people don't converse as much as they used to and that is not healthy. We see all the problems going on in the country today and maybe that would start to change if people began to sit down together again at the table for dinner and start to talk to one another again.

Instead of placing blame on certain things that have always been around, we need to start and look at what is missing. I believe this the single most important tradition that can never go by the waist side. Our children need to pass it on to their children.

People bond when they sit and eat together. It is the element in the equation that has started to fade, and we must not let that happen. I can remember some of the best times were spent around my family's dinner table, and I'm sure that most of the people in this world would agree and smile as they thought about just how special those times were and are to them as well.

We can never get these days back, and we all know that time flies so we have to enjoy each other, especially the ones that we cherish most. If we all start to implement this basic tradition again even once or twice a week, I think it would make a huge difference in this world."

Important Message from the Author:

"Through this book, I am also trying to feed as many children as possible in Bridgeport, CT, a poverty stricken area. Our goal is to feed 100 families the week before Thanksgiving and 250 families the week before Christmas. We will be providing hot plates of food for as many people as we can. We hope to have enough to send people home with a to go plate as well.

We are able to donate more from books sold off of our website, we are still able to give part of the proceeds from our amazon sales but not nearly as much as when they are purchased from our site. We need to remember to dream big, eat together, and always be happy. Peace and Love."
